Description
In 2016 Gijs started investing in digital assets and gathering experience with trading and holding digital assets. Besides his work for the Issuer of the Notes, Gijs is responsible for the European business at VanEck as COO together with Martijn Rozemuller who is the CEO. He co-founded Think ETF Asset Management B.V. in 2008, which was acquired by Van Eck Associates Corporation in 2018. Prior to this, Gijs was a partner at Optiver, a global leading option market-making firm in Amsterdam and London. He was also structurer at Kempen & Co, a local Investment Bank. He is a director of numerous affiliates of Van Eck Associates Corporation.
Gijs holds a master degree in Finance from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Together with Martijn Rozemuller, Gijs is responsible for the European
business at VanEck as COO. In addition to his COO role, Gijs leads the Digital Assets Operations and Portfolio Management team and a director of multiple affiliates of Van Eck Associates Corporation.
