Description

Wendel has been based in Dubai since 2008 and is a partner of the law firm The Counsel Services (TCS) specializing in corporate law and Virtual Asset regulations. He joined Valhalla Network as an advisor in 2024, currently in the process of establishing a network of community banks across Europe. Wendel's career includes being Senior Content Manager at the Financial Times in London, Senior Manager of Content and Conferences at Dubai World Trade Centre, and Director at MCH Group in Basel as a direct report to the CEO, overseeing programming for the company most famous for the international art fair Art Basel. At MCH he launched the global music initiative 'Intraplanetary National Anthem' at COP28 and collaborated on the project to install the first art sculptures on the moon. Wendel currently represents the global creative agency Flow with clients that include Apple and Tesla. Wendel holds a Master's degree in business from Stockholm University and a Master's degree in literature from Uppsala University, combining his passion for art and commerce. He is a writer and columnist for business journals covering technology, innovation, geopolitics, and culture. He has reported from Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and interviewed prominent political and industry leaders. He is a speaker and guest lecturer on business strategy and has authored several books under the pseudonym Mitch Vandell, including ‘Bargepole Management', reviewed in Forbes Middle East as 'something of a rare gem'.
